Blogger Ban In Pakistan: A Guide To Getting Around It
March 4th, 2006 |
Why is it banned?
Read this
The blogger blog that caused the ban is: http://drawmohammedweek.blogspot.com/
How hard could It have been to block just one site rather the whole blogger network?
How do I get around it?
Well you shall need a way of surfing through a proxy outside your country. You can use one of many anonymous surfing websites to achieve this.
http://www.unipeak.com/ Works well and is fast.
Type in a blog address and hit go.
http://proxify.com/ Works well too but does not allow comment posting. Blog posts can still be made.
Can I do something about it?
Yes! Start whining as much as you can… write letters to newspapers… phone up the ISP… and hopefully it will all be fixed soon.

i love you.you’re the best.i’ve always misjudged you.always.i love you.

I am the owner of one of the 12 banned websites - Plus + Ultra, at plusultrablog.com . We have the inside scoop on how the ban came about. The actions of the Pakistani government are actually connected to the actions of a ring of Turkish cyberterrorists who have been attacking the same 12 websites for over a month now. Read all about it here:

“Just 1 degree of separation between cyberterrorists in Turkey and the Pakistani Communication Authority? Kind of makes you wonder, doesn’t it?”
That makes about as much sense as this statement: “Just 1 degree of separation between cyberterrorists in Turkey and the writer for Plus + Ultra.”

[...] But I have found one thinking person amongst this sea of Pakistani sheep: Abdul, who runs the blog “My Shitty Reality TV Show.” He thinks that banning any website is “fucking ridiculous”, and offers Pakistanis step-by-step instructions on how to get around the ban. So if you know anyone in Pakistan, please direct them to Abdul’s page, here: [LINK] Then encourage them to visit Plus Ultra and the other banned websites. [...]

To access any blogspot blog in Pakistan please use:
http://www.pkblogs.com/blogname
e.g. http://www.pkblogs.com/yasirmemon
This is just a proxy server, that will proxy the page from blogspot server and display it to the user. This service is completely ad-free, popups-free…
I hope the govt. doesn’t block this website!!!
Well till then, have fun!!

I am offended that they haven’t blocked my website yet. It is much more blasphemous than some of the ones they have :p
